What is this? TWO updates in a single day?! Nevah! - I’ve just uploaded behind the scenes photos and promotional stills from Some Days Are Better Than Others, yoinked from the official website.
Please do remember that our gallery serves to archive all releated photographic media. No copyright infringement is ever intended.
The trailer for Carrie Brownstein’s upcoming film Some Days Are Better Than Others was released online this week. The feature written and directed by Matt Mccormick and co-starring The Shins’ James Mercer is “…a poetic, character-driven feature-length film that asks why the good times slip by so fast while the difficult times seem so sticky.”
The official website for the film also is up at somedaysthemovie.com. Be sure to direct your eyes there for more information including future screenings.
This is by far my most anticipated post-SK project by any of the ladies. I’ve enjoyed Carrie’s previous ventures into film and if the talent and trailer is anything to go by, Some Days Are Better Than Others is set to form a lump at the back of your throat.
My sincerest apologies for the extended downtime! I was unable to access the account thus the evil suspended page that was on view for well over a month. D:
Many thanks for all the emails of concern. I’m sure there’s something that will make up for lost time…
As promised in the previous update (albeit a little later than anticipated) we’re pleased to launch a super new feature to the site, The Fan Archive.
The Fan Archive serves all your Sleater-Kinney related graphical needs with downloadable desktop wallpapers, LJ icons, avatars, and even more soon to follow! - All free to use.
A thousand thank yous to Mycah for all her help! - If you have anything to contribute, please do get in touch. If you have any suggestions for the future, comments, criticisms, et al, please do feel free to leave a comment or contact us directly. We’re always searching for ways to improve and your feedback is welcomed and appreciated.
I’ve caught up and have added the remaining ThunderAnt captures to the gallery, including captures from the newest short; Pet Haven.
If you’ve yet to view any of the shorts, rectify this by visiting ThunderAnt.com.
A heads up regarding this site, we’ll be launching a new feature in a couple of days so do check back soon!
ThunderAnt:
Carrie will apparently be releasing a book, The Sound of Where You Are according to this blurb I came across on Publishers Weekly:
Ecco’s Matt Weiland has acquired Carrie Brownstein’s The Sound of Where You Are in a North American rights deal with Jud Laghi at LJK Literary Management. Brownstein, founding member of the band Sleater-Kinney and author of NPR’s Monitor Mix blog, will describe the dramatically changing dynamic between music fan and performer, from the birth of the iPod and the death of the record store to the emergence of the “you be the star” culture of American Idol and the ensuing dilution of rock “mystique.” Tentative pub date is early 2011.
